How to use SIGuardian?

Using SIGuardian is very simple. It has two modes of operation:

  • FIRST: SIGuardian checks the state of your HDD's only at system startup. This is good if you restart your system everyday. In this case, SIGuardian doesn't use any of your computer's memory while you work - it will only check for attribute changes at startup. If any attribute has changed, SIGuardian asks your permission to show you the status of this HDD.

  • SECOND: Continuous monitoring of S.M.A.R.T. attributes. In this case, SIGuardian continuously stays in memory and periodically (you can set the time interval) checks S.M.A.R.T. attributes. You can show the SIGuardian icon in the tray representing the status of your HDD's: green - all Ok, yellow - some attribute changed, red - T.E.C. detected.

Default settings are continuous monitoring with a 1-hour interval.
